I am posting this, because of recent events. I am very upset with watching our freedoms being signed away by this new "President", and seeing those who are supposed to be leaders in the GOP not even batting an eye over it. I am sick of the spineless way some of the GOP behave when they should be standing up saying, "Heck No we are Not going to let you do this."
We voted for these people on the notion that they would carry out the conservative agenda that we sent them there to perform. So far we have yet to see much of this. We as citizens give these people the power to rule us. I say it is time we start taking it away if they will NOT obey the will of those who gave them their power in the first place.
I think also the crowing moment that has set me on fire for a new kind of change is the "President's" comment that he won so we should all just sit down shut up and do what ever he wants. When he told the officials we elected that he in effect told us this as well. I say now is when we need to break this silence and be as loud as we can be. I refuse to sit down and shut up any longer. I don't care if I am the only one who is willing to get a bull horn and speak my mind. I will. Conservatives, friends, silence is getting us no where, but shafted. We need to take a more proactive tack with our government. Even if it means starting a new party.
I have as of late felt that the GOP leadership has left it's grass root conservatism behind. It has fallen prey to the notion that if they become more "moderate" that they will be loved by the liberal left. Hog wash!
So in light of this, I feel if our so called "leaders" are going to leave us behind, then I feel we should do them the same turn. I call for all those with a mind for justice, and a love of freedom to stand up. All those who wish to not see this great Republic fade into the night stand up! Stand up for the constitution, for God, for the betterment of mankind! STAND UP!
No, and no.
Is it time to dump Free Republic?

I'm not fighting anymore, I'm sick to death of him and if it wasn't for Obama, I would rejoice at the fact that he LOST.
I’m not sure. I know our new receptionist is one, and the company down the hall is real estate and they have a BUNCH of them. Yes, they are taking jobs as hairdressers, waiters, and the latest craze Green Building LOL. There are still jobs here, and they are taking them. They’re everywhere. You see California plates all over Phoenix.
McCain can be exasperating. That "honor" stuff; McCain believes it. When you can wrap your mind around that, McCain becomes a little more understandable.
Back after Mecham was impeached Rose Mofford became Governor. We were pissed, really pissed and there were rumors floating around about Rose. Well, I came up with the evidence, solid evidence. We could have destroyed Rose Mofford personally and politically.
Do you know who stood in our way? John McCain. And he wouldn't budge. Not an inch.
Thank God he wouldn't. It would have destroyed Rose Mofford but it would have also destroyed Arizona and made us smaller men. McCain compromised and embarassed Mofford in hearings on the CAP but he refused to go cutthroat.
I learned a little from McCain in that episode.
Yeah, that honor stuff is crap. He hides behind something he did ages ago. There is no honor in the stuff he’s been doing, there is no honor in stabbing your party in the back, there is no honor in claiming to be one thing and racing to do something else. How fast did he drop to his knees in front of Obama? Is that honorable?
Isn’t it funny that every time he takes a stand it’s to defend democrats? LOL, and you never figured it out!
What we had would have made world-wide headlines. Arizona was still suffering from the Mecham debacle. Arizona would have been the laughing stock of the world. I’m glad that there was one grownup in the room.
What are you talking about, we were anyway. McCain only comes to the rescue of democrats. His principals only come into effect when it’s time to strike. He wouldn’t even take an effective shor at Obama, the kind that any normal person would, yet did he say even one thing in defense of Palin? LOL, no. She’s a woman, she can take care of herself because John is too busy defending Obama and Hillary.
Well said dude!
Several years ago I was driving across central Arizona very late in the evening. I picked up one of the little stations which was broadcasting some type of dinner honoring Polly Rosenbaum and Rose Mofford. Rose was obviously very inebriated but she called Polly up to the microphone. She stumbled through a ragged list of accomplishments for the both of them. Her final sentence before they cut her off was "Not bad for a couple of mining town hookers, eh, Polly."
That should give you an idea of what it was and what it would have done to Arizona.
If McCain ever stood up for President Bush like he stood up for Obama, we wouldn't be in this mess. But that never happens. He defends democrats, not republicans, he defends his enemy, not those who stood by his side. He still hasn't strongly defended Palin and Palin is the ONLY reason he came as close as he did.
He nailed us to the wall with his campaign finance reform, the only thing about this last election that was enjoyable was watching him get hoisted on that piece of garbage. He laughed that it would sink us, and instead it sunk him.

the FR is a conservative bulletin board, it's one of the reasons why it's here, the pubbies gave us up years ago.
McCain voted with and supported Bush 80% of the time. Normal for a Republican Senator was 85. McCain fought and voted against the Farm Bill, The Highway Bill, The Pill Bill and a lot of pork and earmarks. McCain is Goldwater on the budget.
This cycle the Democrats were fired up and ready to go. The Republicans weren't. Avenues were available to contribute but the money wasn't there. Not for Duncan Hunter, not for Fred Thompson and not for John McCain.
The money wasn't there for John McCain. The money would have been there for anyone else. And you don't know otherwise because nobody else made it out of the primaries. I refused to donate a penny to him, even with Sarah at his side. I would have given to any of the others.
My buddy and I took healthy pees in the No. 2 elevator that goes up the Eiffel Tower. It was about 95F and the thing is made of steel. So we sat at a table on the opposite side of the bar on top near the No. 4 elevator and watched people gag coming out. We had good wine and sandwiches while going people watching just sitting there.
These RINO voters can be turned out by better leadership and education about what is go. There is no magic answer other than to rebuild the party from within one brick at a time in the primaries IMO.
BINGO
Actually, I always thought it would be funny, once the libs all moved south, if the conservatives all moved back east and made a success of it back there. LOL
Let me see. Lincoln was shot in 1865....
Tenth district dittos, my friend. I thought I was Kirk’s only Freeper.
