Stevens is more than 90 years old, I always thought he was just holding out for a liberal president to name his replacement.
the worst MULLAH HUSSEIN can do is GRIDLOCK in the Court. It appears the only ones contemplating retirement are Liberals, thus not increasing the liberal count in the court.
UNless he tries to emulate FDR and tries to change the court and then PACK IT with more Chicago Marxists!!
Not a surprise and hardly a rumor. The man is almost 90 years old.
The most devastating thing about a replacement for Stevens is not that he will be replaced by another liberal but that his replacement will be in their 30’s or 40’s and will sit on the SCOTUS for another 40 years.
I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ve read/heard scuttlebutt that Stevens has been staying on the last few years to ensure his replacement was not a strict constructionist. And with The 0ne-in-Chief now in power, it’s probably a given we’ll get another Bader-Ginsburg type to replace him.
Won’t make any difference in the balance on the court. He and Souter were the worst put on the Court by a Republican president.
Born April 20, 1920 (1920-04-20) age 88...will be 89 in a few months.

I think the basis of it was he was waiting for the inauguration stuff to be over with and now the talk is circulating more as staff has been notified and the White House...well I guess we will know what Obama’s distraction will be for at least 3 months of his first year.

Obama’s first pick for the Court will be Young, Hispanic and Liberal.
The second pick will be a young liberal woman.
The third pick will be a young liberal African American
And if he gets a fourth pick it will be a liberal white male or Asian, but he will be young and liberal.
Unless it was Earl Warren, William Brennan, or Harry Blackmun.
