Sheesh, all he needed to do is to use The Bible for Blackberry.
He probably would have had to uninstall "The Communist Manifesto" to make room for it.

Absolutely idiotic. There is no requirement to use a Bible. Between this kind of thing and the ridiculous “dual citizenship” crap, too many Freepers are showing signs of Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Saying the words to the oath correctly, giving the oath before 12:00PM, saying the oath over a Bible, and being a natural born citizen are trivial matters. For Zero, what the hell?

I would assume the Bible is a figurative thing and not a legal requirement.

He couldn’t place his hand on a bible and take the oath without screwing it up some how.

Yes I know other presidents have taken the oath without swearing on a Bible, however this is Barack Hussein Obama we are talking about who made a great show of just how christian he is and how unmuslim he was.

Can anyone name those presidents that refused to take the oath with their hand on the bible?

maybe for the first time in history there is probably no bible the oval office... the koran, maybe, the many works of Noam Chomsky — fer sure...

so therefore — no bible present for the 2nd oath...

but no bible — (unless W left one) — I’d bet the farm on it.

sad

In 1929, Chief Justice William Howard Taft garbled the oath when he swore in President Herbert Hoover using the words "preserve, maintain, and defend the Constitution", instead of "preserve, protect, and defend". Taft eventually acknowledged his error, but did not think it was important, and Hoover did not retake the oath. Source

It has also happened that presidents took the oath twice, either because they took it in private on the death of their predecessor and wanted the oath to be recorded publicly, or because Inauguration Day fell on a Sunday and the public festivities were scheduled for the following Monday.

Maybe if they screw this up a few more times, somebody within the District of Columbia will be prompted to actually pick up and read the damn Constitution.

Aren’t they the ones who said Rice was acting president for one minute between noon and the time Biden was sworn in? I guess they never heard of the Speaker of the House and the President Pro Temp of the Senate.

Hate to burst the bubble, but as someone who has raised his right hand and been sworn into office as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, the verbal oath is simply ceremonial. The real oath occurs with one’s signature on a piece of paper.

Irrelevant. IT’s not like Obama screwed up the first oath on purpose....if it wasn’t for Roberts getting distracted by having to repeat lines for the jumpy Obama, it would of been successful.
