It's not in full bloom; it's exploding in its big finale. White guilt had a massive role in getting Obama elected, but that leverage is about to become a victim of it's own success.

"What can I do to repay this awful debt?" erupted into "WE'VE FINALLY REPAID THE DEBT", and will fade into, ".. dude, I already paid you back..."

For many white Obama voters I know, getting closure from inherent racial guilt is a major factor in voting for him. They wouldn't phrase it like that, exactly, but they definitely see themselves as having reached an emotional milestone and proven something to themselves and the world.

"I voted for Obama" is mathmatical proof that you're not racist, as far as liberals are concerned. This cathartic election is going to have a profound effect on race relations, and much to the detriment of people who use racial guilt professionally. For a lot of well meaning but gullible white people, the demon has been exorcised, and it's influence over them is largely gone.
