What is required is a new declaration of independence, not just in our nation, but in our own lives — from ideology and small thinking, prejudice and bigotry — an appeal not to our easy instincts but to our better angels.”

You know, I am a HUGE “fan” of the RevWar, and so-called “1812” war. I live near Baltimore and am very aware of the INCREDIBLE stand made by EVERYONE in the “mob city” at that time against ALL the Brits (it is NOT just Ft. McHenry and the “Star-Spangled Banner”).

It SICKENS me whenever any Democrat talks about those “challenges” in political terms, especially.

To even compare facing the greatest country in the world in defiance and rebellion, to “challenges so vast” as alleged economic woes (vague, as yet, for most of us) and the non-existent “warming” (I still don’t get that) is vacuous, not to mention incomprehensible - but REPrehensible.

As for his “independence” - HAH! He even had the gall to say “from selfishness”. 1st off, how is sucking off the government teat either “independent” OR selfless? (No-one ever wants to call taking welfare “selfish”.)

Supposedly Jefferson himself did indeed write “unalienable”. However, he was wrong (as he was on many things).

Studying Greek & Latin roots, “alien” is Greek and thus, must mate with a G/L type prefix, such as “in-”.

“Un-” is a Germanic (the true base of English) prefix form and thus does not match with a Greek root.

Quite the contrary; the Founders are ROLLING in their graves...not just at yet another communist (common since at least FDR), but at the SICKENING paper-hanging and worshipping displayed by so many sheep.

Benjamim Franklin (You know, one of those guys we can get rid of now) said, “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”

The Democratic Party is the one that degenerated from “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can to for your country,” to “What is the government going to do for me?”

I am reminded that nearly 60% of Obama voters had no idea that Democrats have been in complete control of Congress for nearly two years as the country went from prosperity to disaster. This gentleman explains how we managed to elect the worst president in American history at a moment when we needed one of the best.
