I stayed up til 1.30AM here in Britain to watch it. :<)
I thought it was a wonderful speech, 9/11 speeches aside, GWB rarely inspired me with his oratories, even though I admired many aspects of his Presidency.
My impressions were that last nights address was wonderfully patriotic in a Conservative manner, non apologetic to his critics, sincere about him doing some things slightly different with hindsight, and with the definitive reminder that America has been safe since 9/11.
It set the tone for Obama's coming period of office.
It made me proud to be an American . . OH WAIT, I'm English!
I just hope and pray for America that Obama's mustard isn't tested early in his Presidency a-la Bush was on 9/11, cos that guy ain't gonna cut it if he is.
