I wonder why they opted to move to a house? What happened to the ranch?

Perhaps the ranch is a bit out of the way if the Bushes intend to have an active life for the next decade or so.

I read it was due to Secret Service issues. The Ranch did not have the room and was too isolated. Also I believe Laura wants to do things in the city.

Also I believe Laura wants to do things in the city.It is nice to see President Bush taking good care of his wife in this regard. I can't imagine the BS Mrs. Bush had to endure over the past 8 years.

One would die of boredom at the ranch 24/7. Dallas has good restaurants and I think they have many friends in Dallas.

I wonder why they opted to move to a house? What happened to the ranch? My understanding is that Bush 43's Presidential Library will be build on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and their new house is close to the campus.
