All true. Unfortunately, Mr. Marsalis doesn’t practice what he preaches. He donated almost $10k to Barry Obama - the candidate most benefiting of politically correct “entitlement” that this republic has ever seen.

It’s good to hear someone with a platform speak the truth.

It’s a result of child rearing methods inspired by the fabricated crisis of “self esteem” problems in children, initiated by people like the late Benjamin Spock and perpetuated by the Oprah culture.

To the Spock/Winfrey cult: what is the extent of your ignorance?

The idea of what Obama is, is more important than him actually being that.

Keep winking everybody!

I’ll hold my fire here. Obama hoodwinked a lot of people, let’s see in a year how these people think about Obama.

“We live in a country that seems to be in this massive state of delusion where the idea of what you are is more important than you actually being that.”

With his description of “this state of delusion,” Marsalis accurately portrays the central thought process sustaining all of contemporary liberalism.

If he continues with this kind of insight he will inevitably connect the dots completely, at which point he will reject any remnants of liberal inclination left in his mind, including support for Obama.

"Obama hoodwinked a lot of people, let’s see in a year how these people think about Obama."

The American people will think of Obama exactly what the media establishment wants them to think about Obama. One thing this last election has proven, is that contrary to popular Republican mythology, the MSM is not going anywhere and it's as strong (perhaps stronger) than it's ever been before.

As long as the country doesn't dip into a recession (which isn't completely out of the question) and isn't attacked on it's soil (again, not out of the question), Obama will be reelected because that will be the decision at NBCABCCSBCNNWAPONYT etc etc. And what's even more depressing, the country and it's next generation will become increasingly dependent on the government with a greater sense of entitlement to other people's hard earned money. It makes me sick to my stomach, but I'm a realist.

You know he is going to be severely punished for this.

By tomorrow he’ll be on youtube, claiming that he was taken out of context, didn’t really understand the question and just got done shooting heroin at the time of the interview.

You are exactly right. This is why "government by the people" doesn't work: because most people are stupid, easily led, adolescent in taste and reason, and gullible.

Popular government, like communism, is good in theory; but just as communism inevitably becomes a tyranny of the nomenklatura, popular forms of government are in the end a tyranny of charismatic con men. Con men have always been able to manipulate the morons that make up the majority of any given population, but until recently their power only reached as far as their voices could carry from atop a soapbox or the back of a buckboard. Now, thanks to electronic media, the con men have global reach and universal penetration -- a soapbox a million miles high. These media are the greatest tools of masa control ever constructed, for they have the power not just to dazzle and demand, but to actually construct reality in the minds of the members of the audience. The "reality" that most people experience is a carefully-constructed virtual world in which right and wrong, normal and abnormal, and truth itself are defined by the voices, pictures, and words the users of media experience. (Don't believe me? Turn off your TV, radio, and internet services for a week or two and you'll see just how different the world looks without the media to tell you what it all means. Why do you think media content is called "programming"?) This ability to define reality using the media has allowed the ideological class to install their custom-built reality in the minds of voters, who then vote in "free and fair elections" to give the ideologues exactly what they want.

And to think that we spent all those years worrying about the military-industrial complex, and ignoring the ever-growing power of the media/ideological complex!

It's too late to turn back now. The disease of popular government must run its course, with all the suffering, chaos, and waste that entails. Only when this has happened and Western civilization lies in tatters will government "by the people" finally be rejected as the lie that it is, and workable government be restored via manu forti. Let's hope that when that day comes the hand that takes the reins is not a Muslim hand or Chinese hand, but a strong Christian hand who will guide the reconstruction of Chrisetndom and return the survivors to the traditional Western way of government -- Christian monarchy.

“reconstruction of Chrisetndom and return the survivors to the traditional Western way of government — Christian monarchy”

We’ve watched the effects of 1300 years of “Christian Monarchists”, which eventually led to the events of 1776. If you knew a sure fire way to ensure that all Christian Monarchists were in fact “Christian” in out look and character then whooppee...what a wonderful world it would be!

What we really need is Christ and his saints fully and directly in charge, ruling directly from the Holy Land! Nebuchednezzar’s vision of the terrible statue of a man with declining qualities of materials from Gold at the head to clay mixed with iron at the feet all signifying the most horrible one world system ever to enslave men has nearly been established. The stone uncut from heaven shall soon fall and crush this system and become the mountain that fills the whole Earth.

Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord!
