I am telling you the world has gone Acorns. The Disney film Ice Age 2: The Meltdown has more scientific validity than Al Gore's film chocked full of scientfic data that is now being debunked by a recent study by scientists.
Greenhouse gases could have caused an ice age, claim scientists
Filling the atmosphere with Greenhouse gases associated with global warming could push the planet into a new ice age, scientists have warned.Researchers at the University of Birmingham found that 630 million years ago the earth had a warm atmosphere full of carbon dioxide but was completely covered with ice.
The scientists studied limestone rocks and found evidence that large amounts of greenhouse gas coincided with a prolonged period of freezing temperatures.
Stop the presses. Greenhouse gases are linked with freezing temperatures. Well I'll be. The polar bears will be rejoicing as long as environmentalists don't get there way.
Interestingly, Deborah Williams (Former member of the Dept of Interior under the Clinton Administration) had an Op-Ed piece in the Anchorage Daily News and talked about Greenhouse gases and the impact on the Arctic.
She states:
• Global warming is uncontrolled and we are experiencing pervasive erosion in over 180 communities, dying forests, massive summer fires, a corrosive ocean, warmer streams and rivers jeopardizing salmon, extirpated species, human health jeopardized by West Nile and Lyme disease, deadly storms and more.
Now she fits in with the Al Goreites on global warming and the extinction of the polar bear due to sea ice melting.
As stated in an article written by Tom Kizza for McClatchy news, Kizza reports:
This is not a reason to despair or give up," said Deborah Williams, president of Alaska Conservation Solutions, an Anchorage-based organization focused on global warming. "Our generation has the ability to write a death sentence for the polar bear, or to take action to assure that the species survives.
This in response to the melting sea ice that WAS supposed to be linked to greenhouse gases. But now we have a new study that states the exact opposite. That ice covered the earth with large amounts of greenhouse gases.
One has to ask people like Deborah Williams, how did the large amount of greenhouse gases get here?
In the meantime, I think I will look to Disney films on the ice age for scientific accuracy. And Governor Palin is right and John McCain/ Barack Obama are wrong.
