Even the Supreme Court shot it down on all levels and every attempt to bring it back up will fail. This is not Conservative talk radio's fault either. To blame them for this in any way, or insinuate they have become “beltway republican elites” is disingenuous.
The Blogosphere has hit on this for several months from both sides and it has gone nowhere. It would be better to accept this for what it is and understand that it is the public who just does not care were Obama comes from.

NYT, WaPo, LAT, the networks, even in their death throes, are the official describers of the society and the nation. So long as other voices are simply ignored the government and the politicians go on as if they do not exist and so long as no one is shooting guns at them and ACORN can take care of elections, we are devolving rapidly into rule by an alien minority.
