Mine was the Johnny Reb cannon. I got it sometime between '64 an '66 I guess. The link is to a vintage ad for the toy. If you have a favorite, check youtube to see if there is a link and let us know.
Merry Christmas!

It says it costs $11.98. That was a lot of money in the sixties. I guess I was good that year.

I have 2 favorites: My Crosman 760 pellet rifle (when I was 10) and a copy of “The ABC’s of Relativity” (when I was 9).
I no longer have either of them but both of them had a big impact on my life.

Mine was a toy Duck Truck that came with a US Army uniform and Sergeant stripes. That was the year that I asked my Mom if I could have a birthday like the other kids always had, I was born December 30th. She felt so bad that I got those for Christmas and a birthday party with six shooter and 30-30 and cowboy hat. Good times... Good times...

It was a Jerry Mahoney puppet. It had to be sometime in the late 1940s or early 1950s.

Mine was the “Visible V8” 1/4 scale model engine. I have been an amateur mechanic ever since. I think I got it when I was about 15. That was back in the 60s. They still make them, though...

1969. Was 6 years old and had asked for a model train set that had a train you push by hand. Instead my parents got me an HO-scale electric train set. For a 6 year old kid it was like winning the lottery.
Funny thing is, I’m 45 and still have that train set in a box out in the garage somewhere.

English Racer, when no one even knew what they were! A great play garage set where you could actually winch the cars up and down for repair and it came with a Coca-Cola truck with little cases. Slot car racers. American Flyer sled, and a BB Gun. My brother got a Bow and Arrow. Can’t believe he didn’t kill someone!

Tiger Joe. This “remote controlled” tank fired a one inch shell that would “put your eye out”. My bleephole cousin dropped a cinder block on it.

I loved my Micronauts Battle Cruiser. You could take it apart and make different ships/vehicles or use the sides as toy guns.
