What was Palin doing that she couldn’t make it last year, considering that she was still relatively unknown and it was a big opportunity?
One thing I know is that she was pregnant. Might have had something to do with it.
thats the first i ever heard she was supposed to be even be there last year, let alone be the keynote speaker.
I followed here fairly closely and I probably would have remembered something like that seeing as how being the keynote speaker at the most important conservative gathering of the year would be a pretty big deal. Especially for someone who no one had ever heard of up to that point.
And Dick Cheney is the backup plan? That’s like saying we couldn’t some local bar band to play our party so we had resort to plan B and called in Pink Floyd. Highly unlikely.
Something about that doesn’t sound right. Either the writer got confused, and misunderstood that she was supposed to attend last year, and will be the keynote speaker this year(which makes way more sense), or he’s just stirring up trouble and trying to make her look bad back home by insinuating tha tshe was always angling and scheming for power and national profile and just couldnt wait to ditch Alaska. And he gets to compare her to Cheney with that not so subtle dig.
I love how they claim she’s leaving home. The one meeting was the RGA meeting which she would have been at even if she hadn’t been the vP as all Republicans Govs were there. The 2nd was the Obama Gov summit in Philly. Does anyone think she’d really ditch the summit called by the President-elect, especially when she was the VP nominee? Imagine thos eheadlines. Obama reaches out to Governors to help economy, Palin tells him to go f himself and stays home. The Chambliss stumping was done on that same trip and was specifically asked for by the candidate and the party. Plenty of other GOP figures showed up and again, if she has any future aspirations it wouldn’t have been a smart move to stiff the GOP in GA one if its few remaining strongholds and the South in general. GA borders SC after all.
I think she will be at CPAC. It’s usually scheduled at the same time as the annual Governor’s meeting in DC so she should be there anyway.
