Islam especially is a goal-oriented religion that measures its successful global domination with both short term and long term goals. Decades are certainly short-term from their perspective.
They can marry, breed, infiltrate governments, terrorize civilians or declare war. Any combinations of the plan are deemed acceptable and have been historically successful.
