I have to wonder if Dr. Mohler has forgotten that Jesus frequently dealt with the worst of sinners, attending their events and even dining with them, a real no-no at the time. When asked about spending time with sinners and eating with non-believers His response was simple. He pointed out that those who are well do not need a doctor. It's the sick that need a doctor and that's exactly where he was, with the sick.

The inauguration of a president, regardless of the party of the new office holder, is not a Democratic or Republican thing. Taking part in it does not represent the endorsement of the beliefs of the new President, but rather an act undertaken on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States. Just like saluting a superior office shows respect for the position, not the person. Personally I find it refreshing that God will hear a plea for our country from the heart of man who share's my faith. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God. At least in all the hype of the day and worship of a false Messiah there will be at least one voice that I feel represents the God I believe in and trust to save me.

In case you missed the memo, unlike Rick Warren, Dr. Mohler is a biblical scholar. Judging by your own words, you are not a scholar as well.

You are falsely equivocating the example of Christ dining with sinners with that of Dr. Mohler’s conviction. Using your logic, Mr. Warren should be celebrated if he dined with Islamic terrorists. There is a big difference between attending a party, and an inauguration. There’s a great difference between dining with sinners, and the inauguration of a President elect that openly supports the killing of innocent babies.

“Personally I find it refreshing that God will hear a plea for our country from the heart of a man who share’s my faith.” And our Lord doesn’t hear the pleas of those who do not share you exact “faith”?

Interesting. “God will hear”. So you KNOW what God hears. “...the heart of a man...” So, you know Rick Warren’s heart? I wonder how many in the congregation knew Mr. Haggard’s heart.

Nope, just stating my opinion. Sorry you choose to be so demeaning in your response to my post.

There is no comparison between the inauguration of a President of the United States and dining with Islamic terrorists. Again, to my way of thinking, feel free to be as catty and demeaning as you want about that, it’s like saluting a superior officer in the military.

I make no claim to be a scholar. However, I have apparently been taught differently from you. I can assure you that were the shoe on the other foot I would not have responded to your post in such a condescending manner.

Again, participation in the inauguration of a president is is showing respect for the office and to what America stands for, not approving of what someone believes in or support.

You seem to be a rather bitter and judgmental person. I find that sad.

I apologize if my arrogance of daring to express my beliefs on a religious matter offended you.

“...Dr. Mohler had forgotten that Jesus dealt with the worst of sinners...”

To condescend to suggest that Dr. Mohler fails to remember this passage is just as judgmental as you accuse others of being.

“Nope. Just stating my opinion.”

Apparently, if another states their opinion, it’s a condescending, bitter judgment. But if you state your opinion, it’s just an opinion. This smacks of spiritual pride.

“...catty and demeaning...” Again, your opinion is an opinion, but when being critiqued, the other is (((insert name calling and ad hominem labeling))).

“You seem to be rather bitter and judgmental...” “...offended you.”

Again, if you state an opinion, it’s an opinion. If another challenges your false equivocations, they’re being bitterly judgmental.

You failed to see the comparison. Islamic terrorists are in the business of killing innocent people, just as the president elect is (unborn babies no less). I commend Dr. Mohler for living out his conviction.

You have either misread my post, or you fail to understand. I did not outright say, suggest, or otherwise pronounce that Mr. Warren approved of or supported Mr. Obama’s policies/ideology.

“I apologize if my arrogance...” Whose being condescending?

Here’s a challenge. Name one example of demeaning language in my post. I can sight several examples from your post, using your very own words, in describing me.

I am very disappointed in Rick Warren. I used to like the guy, but now must count him among the other confused individuals who would rather compromise their spirituality and commitment to God’s word for popularity. You must ask yourself, would Billy Graham speak on Obama’s behalf?! NO, he would not. This is a man who believes in abortion, gay marriage and will push a radical anti-American agenda. He will turn his back on Israel, an ally and friend to the US. Obama stands for nothing. He has no character. I could not in good conscience stand on any stage in agreement with this man.
