after I return from ringing the Salvation Army bell from noon-1 pm in front of our grocery. Did it last Friday in front of Wal-Mart. . . . Tuesday night, our Golden K club participated in the annual CAN (Children's Action Network) Needy Children's Christmas program. We volunteer to take children to Wal-Mart to buy essentials such as clothing.

But . . . but . . . I thought you were an EEEVIL, cold-hearted, uncaring CONSERVATIVE who wants to STARVE CHILDREN!! And I thought GOVERNMENT was the only way to help out needy people!

!!WEATHER REPORT!!

Just returned from my EEEVIL hour ringing the Salvation Army bell. Not bad outside at all. Close to 300 (a heat wave!) and we had perhaps 7-8" of snow. The roads, though still somewhat snow covered are drivable.

I arrived about 11:50 and only had the post with the Salvation Army sign on it. Our program chair didn't arrive until 12:10 with the bucket, bell and apron. By then I'd already collected $7. People are sure trusting...

Actually, I was as comfortable as I've ever been doing this. No big deal.
