On January 8, 2009, both the U.S. Senate and House shall meet for the purpose of counting and certifying the electoral votes. After the vote has been counted, the President of the Senate shall call for objections. It is at this time that Federal officials in both the House and Senate may object to the certification of President-elect Obama by alleging that he fails to meet the Constitutional requirements to serve as President of the United States. Article II of the Constitution states that in order to be President, a person must be a natural-born citizen, at least 35 years old, and have resided in the U.S. for at least 14 years. Regardless of the citizenship status of the parents, any person born on U.S. soil is a U.S. citizen.
Senator Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, which makes him a U.S. citizen and at age 46 he meets the minimum age requirement. He has also resided in the U.S. for at least 14 years. While I do not agree with many of Senator Obama's policy positions, he does meet the Constitutional requirements to be President of the United States .
Chambliss is a RINO. We had to reelect him but he is a RINO. Sarah saved him.
Mitch McConnell might have the guts. I would tell Mitch that KY has the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell and you BETTER make damn sure that this guy meets the Constitutional qualifications because he will probably be sending those boys to die somewhere. This is Mitch’s duty.
Its obvious that Chambliss needs to be educated a little on the difference in Natural Born and US Citizen.
