CHICAGO, ILL. Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That’s one of Obamas first priorities today.
He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.

QUINCY, IL Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. ...
On that note, I'm not sure I see what's wrong with him meeting with Blago to discuss this. Apparently there's something I'm missing because his first reaction to this situation was to lie about meeting with Blago. I chalked that up to a near pathological impulse to lie about anything.
Is there some statute or angle I'm missing here? If I was in his position, I know I'd try to have input on my successor.
