There has to be an election first. ILL law calls for the appointment of the replacement until the next Congressional election which would be in 2010. Now with the troubles of the Gov. and the call for the ILL Leg. to meet and change the law there maybe the option of an election. We’ll see what developes in the next few weeks.

I'd rather see Blago appoint himself to the Senate. He's no more corrupt that most of the other members; he simply lacks their finesse.
