Now that I see how easily the govt caves about opening the Treasury to whomever howls for handout, I wonder if a good tax rebellion wouldn’t have been effective years ago. Seems all one needs is a specific list of demands.

The govt. would deal with a tax rebellion by selectively crushing the leaders. Tax revolt would work only if millions acted simultaneously. Also remember that almost half the population pays no income tax. There are almost as many who benefit from the tax system as are hurt by it. The “takers” would be roaming around, plundering, raping, and murdering the “givers” if they didn’t get their fix.
