“As this blog noted in the 25th Ammendment, section 6, ‘If the President and Vice President are found disqualified from their offices, the succession of office goes to, Sec. of State’.”

I was getting all excited until I read this. There ain't no section 6 in the 25th amendment. Furthermore MOST people who remember their American government classes know that succession after the vice-president is the Speaker of the House!

The writer must be confused with the Al Haig SNAFU!

I am guessing that what Lame Cherry had in mind was the Presidential Succession Act of 1947, which has a section that reads very like Section 6 of the Senate Joint Resolution 179:
(d) (1) If, by reason of death, resignation, removal from office, inability, or failure to qualify, there is no President pro tempore to act as President under subsection (b) of this section, then the officer of the United States who is highest on the following list, and who is not under disability to discharge the powers and duties of the office of President shall act as President: Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Defense, Attorney General, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Labor, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Secretary of Transportation, Secretary of Energy, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Secretary of Homeland Security.
Lame Cherry makes a lot of mistakes, but also posts some interesting insights from time to time, which is why I posted his/her Obama Tapes column.
