” But Nixon did not dispute the 1960 election so as not to undermine the entire system. He felt the will of the people had been heard and for the good of the nation it should stand.”

Only conservatives could understand this statement. I note here that Nixon DID go on to become president eventually. May God grant us the ability to survive the next 4 years!

4 years! The American people do not like to be proved wrong. What makes you think it will be “only” four years. I can even see the “opposition” unable to field a viable candidate in 2012.

Just a comment on the above, not directed at you....Nixon knew he lost via fraud and so did a lot of other people. Nixon bowed out because he didn't want to tear the country apart by contesting the election a la dip sh*t Gore

Just my $.02

As long as we don’t give in to that treasonous “One World Government” bullsh*t do we have a chance to survive. Of course, there is always the shadow of mushroom clouds, but then all bets are off.

A failed and disgraced President. Maybe, had Nixon stood up for the rule of law in 1960, he would have saved the country, and himself a lot of heart-ache, turmoil, and threat of danger in the long run. Instead, he did not act a leader, and he let the "will of the people" decide the fate of the nation.

All those black folk who voted for the Chicago Ghetto Thug need to get down on their knees and thank God that other Presidents before him didn't buckle to the "will of the people", or they would still be slaves, or living in a segregated society.

"All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." -- Edmund Burke

Just a thought.

And what did the US get by Nixon stepping aside?

A fairly screwed up president who finally got his head blown off.
