You’re right. All should reak Coulter’s book, Slander. The book publishing world is continually “surprised” by the success of conservative books, yet they continue to give ungodly advances to liberal authors.

Will you join me in a civilized protest against all of this?

Imagine a world in which conservative values are again exalted by a media that actually cares about the good of society. They won’t do it unless we protest loudly. with respect, but LOUDLY.

We can do more than scratch each others backs in these forums.

Without FR I wouldn’t even know Newsweek existed. Thanks for nothing.

Newsweek magazine, one of the most influential news magazines in America...

The entire review collapses very early.

“The entire review collapses very early.”

Interesting that you can only quote one sentence of an otherwise lengthy review from a theologian.

Would you qualify your comment, preferably point by point, since you are, in essence, dismissing a scholar?

Miller begins with a lengthy dismissal of the Bible's relevance to the question of marriage in the first place. "Let's try for a minute to take the religious conservatives at their word and define marriage as the Bible does," Miller suggests. If so, she argues that readers will find a confusion of polygamy, strange marital practices, and worse.

The Bible also refers to incidents of cannibalism. That doesn't mean God condones the practice.

I continue to protest.

Read ‘Communist Goals’ on post 24.

We have to start from the ground up. “Ground” being education, as well as orthodox doctrine.

Yes, the Bible also sights other atrocities. Chronicling historical events doesn’t amount to condoning wicked acts.

Miller is inept.

“I wonder why Newsweek does not even try to reinterpret the Holy Quran to make a case for same-sex “marriage”.”

Well, unlike hateful, homophobic, terrorist Christians (apparently Rosie O’Donnell accuses Christians as such, among other liberals in the media), the Muslims wouldn’t hesitate to blow Newsweek up.

This moron has no theological education and yet is simply given the platform to spew her biblical distortions as if she had any kind of theological authority to do so. webeditors@newsweek.com

Ever hear of incrementalism? Leftists take things slowly. Gay marriage was talked about on tv talk shows like Dick Cavett’s back in the sixties. The reference to Newsweek being gay is that they’ve been sympathetic to leftist issues, especially homosexual “rights” issues, for as long as I can remember. I used to subscribe to Newsweek. I believe I know the way they think.

In context, my post concerns Newsweek’s “coming out of the closet”,if you will. I have no doubt that Newsweek has always been progressive (judging by the occasions I’ve read the magazine), but they were not outright endorsing such deviant behavior as homosexuality back in the sixties.

Your post did not elaborate on whether or not you were talking about “incrementalism”(?). If you had specified, I would been in total agreement with you.

Good day,
TJI

I know they didn’t endorse gay marriage forty years ago. No one did except for the major homosexual orgs. My point was that leftists take their time and eventually worm their ideas into the American mainstream social scene. My stating that Newsweek had gone gay forty years ago in no way implied that they publicly endorsed gay marriage in those days. I simply meant that Newsweek, like other leftist media, was a committed member of the gay “rights” movement forty years ago.

Any proof that Muslims would not hesitate to blow Newsweek up if Newsweek did a hatchet job on the Holy Quran?
