Once again, I simply can not believe that freepers, of all people, are falling for the ‘what the media has made her’ crap. I hope you realize, you have fallen for the oldest play in the book. That fact that any freeper would even be concerned with what the media has done makes me question their ability to reason, let alone any grasp of reality.

Let me preface my statement by saying that I LOVE Sarah Palin, and would vote for her in a heartbeat over Obama, or any Dem, for that matter. I identify with her and her values.

That being said, let's be honest, Sarah *should* have been able to name specific books and magazines that she reads. She should have been able to rattle off a Supreme Court case or two. She gave a poor answer to the bailout question. It would be nice if she didn't sound so scripted in interviews too - although I suspect the campaign was at fault there.

It's totally unfair, but the media has created an image of her that she is uninformed and not intellectually curious (at least for the time being). It is also a fact that while Republicans adore her by and large, moderates and indepedents do not. She is a very polarizing individual. It's not that she has made herself polarizing, it's that the media has created a caricature of her that is. She is going to have to fight that. She is going to have to find a way to break through the media filter and re-introduce herself as a competent, conservative, common-sense leader - someone that endears themselves to independent voters. Like Hillary Clinton, it is difficult for politicians to win national elections when 50% of the country already has a negative view of them. Again, it's unfair - but it is what it is.
