I can only think of a few reasons why Horowitz, Malkin and others are not only not touching this but denouncing those who are concerned as kooks.
1. Scared of the Fairness Doctrine causing them to lose their livelihood. Obviously not scared of shutting them up, if they are denouncing concerned citizens (and the Constituitonal requirements for president as a useless technicality) out of fear, then just the spectre of the Fairness Doctrine has defeated them.
2. They love admiration and fame so much that they fear being tarred - mostly by the left, obviously, but plenty of “moderate” Repubs, insiders - with the “kook” label, so they are willing to call others “kooks” to prove they aren’t.
3. They are uninformed about the whole shebang - if they haven’t read for hours and hours and hours, then they are uninformed.
