RCP average had Chambliss up by just over 5% just before the Georgia Senate runoff elections. The real results had Chambliss winning by 14%, that is close to 10% more than the final RCP average polls. That's a heck of a big jump.
Chambliss himself said it was Gov Palin that energized the base, and gave him the extra push. All you have to do do a search on the Georgia run off elections right on this site to find that.

And how does this differ from past run offs??? It track prior one’s almost to the same percentage. The demorat’s do not get the voters out twice. Look it up if you want.
