Finally had a chance to listen to the YouTube, yep, no doubt he says ‘es un’.. but it isn’t just that, it is the context that he doesn’t just ‘speak about immigrants, he is one’. That kind of negates the possibility he was saying this as Obama is from a family of immigrants.

Good, thanks for the clarification. Yes, he does definitely say that Obama is an immigrant.

But the opposition will preictably claim that that’s a typical politician’s ploy. For instance, to give another example, many of us were saying “I am Joe the Plumber.” What that means is that we feel his pain, resent the attacks on him, and identify with him as a sensible, ordinary guy whom elite intellectuals scoff at. In other words, it’s not to be taken literally.

But considering the facts about Obama, it’s definitely an embarrassing thing for Richardson to have said. And it’s just possible he actually KNEW that Obama is an immigrant.
