THAT is what must be addressed, not the petty obfuscations of AWB II. 922(o) has got to go, and can most efficiently resolve the whole issue of bans. Why spend years and millions bickering over flash suppressors and detachable mags when overturning one sentence can get us M4s?

He also said that they can’t ban M16s because that would sever the 2ndA’s preamble. ...so, let’s push a case to end the ban on M16s!

You can’t buy a new full-auto, no way, no how.

What you can get (under extreme regulation, cost, age, and scarcity) is the few remaining one grandfathered in just to make passing & maintaining the ban easier.

...and they leave the toilet seat up too.

And when you ask them who did it, they always point to the children.

While what you write is true, the presenter was addressing the point of left wing propaganda, which implies that full -auto is readily available.

I would not be suprised that statistics would show that the percentage of full-auto weapons to total rifles would not be a basis point.

"Does this mean that joe six pack should be able to own a bazooka?"

Are you trying to make a funny? :<(

Way back when I was just a youngster, we used to use a 60mm mortar set up in the back of an old Dodge pickup as a fast way to open a hole for ice fishing.

We didn't have a good use for our bazooka except for stump removal, but the Tommy gun was sure fun to shoot beer cans with.

Times sure have changed since the last depression. Do you foresee any changes following the coming one?

Looks just like my .308 VEPR. Check out this project from the gunboard I’m one or the mods on... I’m thinking I need to do this to mine....

Joe Sixpack should be able to own any man portable weapon commonly issued to the US military.

If one man can fire it, I should be able to own it without getting anyones permission, paying any sort of a tax, or anything else of that nature.

Period.

The 2nd doesn't specify which guns we're allowed to own.

Since there are no restrictions as to what *arms* we *have the right to own*, we have the right to own any arms we like. Don't like it? then AMEND THE CONSTITUTION, don't ignore it. Good luck amending one of the Bill of Rights.

They will also ramp up their efforts to restrict/ban the sale of semi-automatic weapons. While I am uncertain of how they will do it, they are evil and they are lawyers so I am confident they will find a way.

How they will do it is simple. They'll resubmit HR 1022, or something worse, early in the next Congress, say around January 7th or 8th, and pass it "just in time" to have it on B. Husein's desk say about January 21st.

From "The Office of the President Elect's change.gov

Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

Note, link does not seem to work with Mozilla 3, although other links to other agenda items do. It does work with IE7.

fully-automatic firearms are illegal for civilians. That is not really true.

It is in California, and that's where he is.

“It is in California, and that’s where he is.”

That figures. California seceded from the rest of the country some time ago; it’s just that no one realized it. California has become a third-world basket case.

“All this talk about legislation forgets that the Chosen One may very well halt the supply of foreign-made ammo with an executive order. This could happen very quickly, and without fanfare.”

Count on it. That will effectively put an end to the popular ak models and sks’s as being a cheaper option to the more expensive ar-15’s. And American-made ammo is of course more expensive than foreign imports and in much less supply, so you’re talking about a quick drying up of the ammo market for those who shoot semi-autos or foriegn antique weapons. The noose around the firearms market’s neck tightens.

I'm sure that the scumbags in the MSM already have the template ready to go.

First, we'll get a bunch of "rising gun violence" stories, then we'll hear that the "flood of cheap, foreign ammo" is to blame. Finally, we'll get BS polls being passed off as news showing that the American sheep want "something done immediately.

I bet that Obama and the MSM could pull it off easily in the first 3 months of his presidency.

Any bets as to how long it takes until Newsweek runs with a "Gun Violence" cover? How about how long it takes for 60 Minutes to run a story about Russian, "Wolf" brand ammunition flooding our streets so gang bangers can kill "the children"?

Yeah I can easily see the news editors beating the war drums. AK-47 machineguns flood the streets as gang bangers arm themselves and stock up on cheap Russian armor-piercing ammunition! Watch the immediate panic if imported ammo is suddenly banned. You won’t be able to find Wolf anywhere except as an overpriced novelty item on gunbroker.
