Stupid movie moment and it dies not reflect the opinion of many scientists. There is a possibility that the amino acids required arrived by asteroid or some other space stuff. To ignore that possibility would be negligent. I think it is just as likely that they came off the boot of some traveler as other ideas - if you want to stick to evo that is.

And, pray tell, did those wonderous amino acids come from? While we are at it, what set off the “Big Bang”?

Explanations are easy; finding causes is much more difficult.
