Exactly! (although, IMHO, it's the 'offences against the Laws of Nations' part that's applicable).
If someone fraudulently applies for a position they know they do not qualify for isn't an offense against the nation, I don't know what is.

BTW, if you want the truest concept of Constitutional intent, try View of the Constitution of the United States by St. George Tucker.
It was the first legal treatise written after ratification, and Tucker was was an officer in the American Revolutionary Army, a Professor of Law, justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia, and a judge of the Federal District Court for Virginia by an appointment from President James Madison.
It’s encouraging to me to know that there are people on the side of right, who understand, and have such great familiarity with our Founding Documents as you, MT.
The clarity of knowledge and intelligence regarding this matter, which is being displayed in obscene abundance on these bc threads, shines a harsh spotlight on the weakened state of the average American’s analytical abilities.
While we here at FR are debating and puzzling over the most minute details of this issue, the law, and the Constitution, most Americans are blindly swallowing the propagandist pap from the media and liberal blogs without question, or analysis.
But, I won’t let that depress me. Nearly every great deed in history has been accomplished by the dedication and persistence of single individuals and small groups of extraordinary people. And so it has been since the time of our nation’s founding.
nice, but only one parent is a citizen of the U.S. his father was a Kenyan national and his stepfather was an Indonesian national. You also have to look at the circumstances.
When the Indonesian stepfather called barack his own and sent him to Islamic school, his citizenship was rescinded.
