Having seen the police (not the mayor) institute a curfew in Houston and the city of New Orleans confiscating guns, if a nuke goes off we will have no rights. No rights of travel. No rights of self defense. No rights.
Hell, cops already don’t care about unconstitutional no-knock raids and killing pets and people and risking their own lives unnecessarily—we already have a Police State army. They just aren’t coordinated yet.
I was amazed it flew through without resistance. I bet most don’t even know it exist.
Are you sure you're on the right discussion board?
We will have the right of self-defense, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and and all the rest. These are inherent human rights not grants from the government. That is why the Bill of Rights is phrased as forbidding Congress from infringing these rights. We would just be in a state of nature vis-a-vis a tyrannical government, and would have to exercise our natural right of self-defense against its minions.
Only if you donj't defend your rights.
The New Orleans police would have been a heck of a lot less enthusiastic if people had been giving them their bullets one at a time.
