Thanks for your reply.
Anchor baby is a term that refers to kids born in the US to illegal alien parents. Obama's mother was a US citizen and his father was here legally,
I'll try to rephrase my question to you, getting rid of as much ambiguity as possible.
Rephrase:
Anchor baby is a term that refers to kids born in the US to ... alien parents. Alien = non-citizen. Whether parents are legal aliens or illegal aliens is not relevant.
"anchor baby" refers primarily, though not necessarily exclusively, to the status of the mother in cases where the father is not a citizen. There seems to be no disagreement that the father, though here legally, was not a citizen, so let's focus on the mother.
In your comment to RGPII, to which I was responding, you say:
"If he was born in Hawaii, then that law makes no difference- he is a natural born citizen regardless of his mother's or father's age or citizenship status."
Focusing on the mother, I'll rephrase
"If he was born in Hawaii, then that law makes no difference- he is a natural born citizen regardless of his mother's ... age or citizenship status."
So,
"if he was born in Hawaii, then the law makes no difference", no matter how old the mother was or whether she was a citizen or not.
RPGII's maundering comment was addressing the question of whether the mother was actually a citizen at the time of OB's birth. Your comment to him says that it doesn't matter.
If it doesn't matter, take the case where she was not a citizen at that time. If he was born in Hawaii to a woman who was not a citizen [and a father who was not a citizen],
was he not an anchor baby ?
Not trying to be disputative. Just thought it would be interesting if OB was an anchor baby.
