Unless I misunderstand the law, his mother was a US citizen, so it doesn't matter where he was born.

Got a news flash for you FRiend, unless 0bama was born on U.S. soil or U.S. territory, he is NOT eligible to serve as President, and if his mother were Betsy Ross or Kate Smith it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference.

Native born means "born on U.S. soil".

You might want to write to John McCain then. He was born in Panama, IIRC. Having two US citizens as parents also qualifies as a "natural-born citizen". (Obama's father was Kenyan, his mother Kansan.)
