I suspect it’s like so many other things the democrats demand when republicans are in power. They want to force republicans to do unpopular things that they don’t want to do themselves.
They call for the draft knowing it won’t happen, they demand immediate withdrawl from Iraq, and there’s the GITMO thing. They won’t do any of them themselves, they just want republicans to do them so it can be used against us.
Republicans have been truly pathetic in defending themselves against all this. Bush just rolled over in the name of “the new tone” I can gurantee that Hussein’s administration won’t care one bit about “a new tone in Washington” The thug tone will be the only thing that matters.
