This Editorial by Dick Morris. is sad but true. I have been a huge proponent of Bushs tax cuts and economic policy. Yet, even before Barack Obama takes office, in the past few months we have moved further towards European socialism than ever before.
The results of the G-20 economic summit amount to nothing less than the seamless integration of the United States into the European economy. In one month of legislation and one diplomatic meeting, the United States has unilaterally abdicated all the gains for the concept of free markets won by the Reagan administration and surrendered, in toto, to the Western European model of socialism, stagnation and excessive government regulation. Sovereignty is out the window. Without a vote, we are suddenly members of the European Union. Given the dismal record of those nations at creating jobs and sustaining growth, merger with the Europeans is like a partnership with death.
At the G-20 meeting, Bush agreed to subject the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and our other regulatory agencies to the supervision of a global entity that would critique its regulatory standards and demand changes if it felt they were necessary. Bush agreed to create a College of Supervisors.

I agree with Cindy Sheehan (for the good reason): BUSH Should have been IMPEACHED! This is treasonous!
Welcome to FR.
GWB, the president that destroyed the free markets in America. Great legacy there.
I don’t suppose the democrat held senate and congress had anything to do with it. Nah.

well for six of his eight years they didn’t....this is as much Bush’s fault as it is their’s. Beside two excellent supreme court pick (one of which we had to back him to a wall to get), this president has been an utter and complete disaster.
A great disappointment, yes, but perhaps not an utter and complete disaster given the alternatives, but the next two years are pivotal.
Will we see leadership emerge or more of the making noises in the right direction but failing to effectively follow through.

May I please repeat myself. PLEASE read The Federalist Papers to prepare yourself for any political discussions with Democrats. I’ve only gotten into the introduction and have underlined and put in arrows and stars for talking points.
The Federalist Papers are a wealth of information and references for discussions.
Uh, this was all pushed and fought for 100% by the Bush administration. Is there anything Bush could do against conservatism that you would criticize him for?
