After seeing a fellow National Review columnist told off by her editor ("embarrassing and outrageous") and readers ("my mother should have aborted me ... I should 'off' myself"), neocon David Frum has decided he is taking his anti-Sarah Palin views and following Christopher Buckley out the conservative journal's door. And amid the nasty internecine feuding on the National Review's website and elsewhere, he sounds more than a bit scared of what's left of the crumbling conservative movement:

Any chance (one can hope) that he’ll renounce his U.S. citizenship and move back north.

I like NR but it does have a bit of an eastern elitist tang to it.

I’ve already cancelled my subscription. When Kathleen Parker goes I’ll renew.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out...
I am so tired of these faux conservatives... Buckley (an embarassment to his father’s good name), David Frum and David Books

Like the old saying goes: "It is better to have a small, loyal crew than a large, mutinous one."
Frum can skadaddle for all I care. The conservative movement will be much stronger without him and his peers like Chris Buckley, Kathleen Parker, et. al. Plus, it makes room for us to bring in new blood.

Yawn. Mark Levin on NRO said it all:
With all due respect to David Frum and Kathleen Parker, their disgruntlement does not reflect the nature of either the magazine or the website. They were (are) provocative in what they wrote, they knew it, yet feign discomfort with the reaction and now wear the face of victimization. I find it all annoying and distracting. (You want to see hate mail? Try being a talk show host for about five minutes. You deal with it.) NR the website is a forum for input and debate, but for the occasional official editorial. Given the intelligent people around here, the debates will often be intense just as they were from the day William Buckley founded NR magazine and thereafter. And, of course, throughout it all, there were those who took their pens and paper and went elsewhere.

It was David Frum who gave GWB the phrase ‘Axis of Evil’ and for that we should be grateful.
At least now we have a name for the 1/3rd success that Bush achieved in battling said Axis.

David Frum is not just bad, he has probably done more harm to this country's foreign policy than any other so-called conservative.
By coming up with the nonsensical notion of an "Axis of Evil" he pushed our leaders into a corner and essentially forced us into being hyprocrites, i.e. going to war with Iraq when we thought they had WMDs, but not going to war with North Korea or Iran even though we know they have WMDs.
These three countries had tenuous links at best and it is always stupid to create imaginary alliances where none exist. It is better to imagine conflicts that could become real to the detriment of our foes, than to do what David Frum did.
Ultimately it is the president's fault for uttering these silly words, but Frum deserves a measure of responsibility for our convoluted responses to NKor and Iran over the past few years.

Neocons are the only bedwetters (big-government types who want their hands held and have lullabies sung to them at taxpayer expense so they feel safer) in the conservative movement. Hope he brought his blankie too.

The reason the GOP lost young votes is because they haven't presented fresh ideas. Period.
The fundementals of conservatism are not white vs black, old vs young or men vs women.
The fundementals are freedom, opportunity and personal responsibility that everyone can relate to provided it is clearly put forward.

conservative journal's door. Words mean things. "Conservative" he is not and never was.

Wrong! In fact we are rediscovering and shoring up our foundation. Making sure we are built on bedrock and not quicksand.
