County-by-County, State-by-State
Red State Blue ^ | 17th of November 2008 | David Aronin

Simple, but not obvious. In her state - Wisconsin - with a Democratic governor and state senate, as well as an assembly that has just "turned blue" after 14 years as a Republican strong-hold - what could be done by conservatives to: make headway on their agenda, revive the morale of their adherents...raise their stature in the public eye, and develop and sustain the momentum needed to renew their drive to take back the legislature and Governor's mansion?

How about ending same-day registration that allows voters from Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinoi infect Wisconsin elections? This state should be a red-state but because of fraud, the republican party always loses.

Too late. The 'Rats will put a death-gerrymander on the Wisoconsin GOP, and that will be that, just like California. Twenty years from now, just being a known Republican will be a Class B misdemeanor worth jail time.

Being a known Republican in possession of a firearm will be a felony, five years minimum.

Thank you for your comments!
It is crystal clear that we have learned important lessons on grass-roots organizing from those on the left, that doing so was a key factor in the political to successes we had in the 1980s and from 1994 to 2006, and that we need to “go back to school” if we are going to survive our current troubles.

Furthermore, that while we were applying such lessons to the political arena the lefties were using them to take over vast segments of the culture-in-general. And, that we will have to fight tooth-and-nail to win those back if we are going to renew our movement.

Hence my reference to “Don’t mourn, organize!” - from the ballad of Joe Hill. :) An old lefty song, song by old lefties and mostly when they have “had a few.” :)

All the best!

Thank you for your comments.
Now, where’s that magic wand I had here an minute ago, huh?!
Sure would be easier to use that to end “same-day registration” then to do so via the political process, given that both WI state houses are in Dem hands and the Gov is a Dem who has a line-item veto. Oh, use a referendum - like Ms McKenna suggested and as described in my article “County-by-County, State-by-State?” Great Idea!
Thanks!
And, all the best!
