everytime I go to Walmart I buy more quart canning jars

For those that already can and have jars, it would be good to stock up on jar flats. This fall a friend of mine still had alot of canning to do, and could not get flats. Anywhere where she lived.. It gave me a heads up and I started buying them each time I went to the store since I could get them here.

Anyone out there old enough to remember the jar rubber rings that were reusable??? That goes back into time.

I’ve been buying the flats too. I remember the rubber rings, but only because my mom used them.

rubber jar rings?..sort of....

remember the 2 qt canning jars?....I got some from my mom and I bought some at a garage sale...

the lids were in short supply a few years ago, if anyone remembers.....that's a very good suggestion....buy them now....

my SIL says this according to her inlaws that are Dukaboors in Canada...they make vegetarian soups using lots of butter and milk and veggies....they make it in huge quantities....then they can a lot of it....not that it will keep on a shelf, but they vacuum seal the jars just so the lids will seal....the soup will keep in the refrig. for several weeks.....
