Democrats Begin Decision 2012: Conservative Witch Hunt
The Gadfly ^ | The Gadfly

Posted on 11/13/2008 9:13:45 AM PST by The Conservative Yogini

“The Bush administration overstepped in its exertion of executive privilege, and may very well try to continue to shield information from the American people after it leaves office,”- New York Times

This is only the beginning of Decision 2012. The Bush Administration (read: conservatives/republicans) is going to be made the national scapegoat, for years to come or, at the very least until 2012. Even when Obama does something unpopular, even shocking, the Democrats are going to point to the Bush Administration as the cause: "We must do x because Bush did y". As a result, national fear and national anger and frustration will be, in totalitarian fashion, redirected unto some target entirely other than the white-as-snow government of Obama. Remember, Obama is the good guy here. He is the messiah incarnate.

Yep, gotta keep that “Bush’s fault” thing going for years. It’ll allow ‘the one’ to march into his second term.

They will blame Bush for this entire century. The same way
they made FDR savior of the 20th century.

I can agree that Bush Fault Syndrome will continue...but I think it loses its effectiveness after 9 or 10 months...particualrly since Dems control Congress as well.

They can play the blame game all they want, but in the end Obama was elected because people believed he could fix all the so-called damage of the Bush administration. If they cannot, and things get worse, I suspect the electorate will not be so forgiving.

But I've been wrong before.

You are correct. People vote the now, regardless of how much the MSM try to protect BO.

After every presidential honeymoon, the responsibility and burden shifts to the new Administration. Nixon inherited Vietnam in November 1969. Reagan inherited the Carter recession in July 1981. Clinton made all sorts of errors that were self-inflicted by mid-1993.

If the economy is in poor shape in 2010, the GOP will make significant gains.

Depends on how successful the so-called 'Mainstream Media' can keep the lies going, and whether an articulate spokesman (or, more likely, spokeswoman) for conservative values within the GOP can successfully counter them. That's why they went after Sarah Palin as viciously as they did.

Palin/Jindal 2012!

I think you’re right. People tend to have short memories and after a while they are going to look at Barry, and not think Bush.

You forget that FDR is still credited in people’s minds with ending the depression. The power of propaganda is immense.

“We must do x because Bush did y”.

Yes, they will do that. But some where along the way as the economy tanks, and people are starving, that will morph into “Bush is a Christian, therefore we must do x because of Christians.” Christian are a favorite target of the left, more so than Bush.

Then the real hunt will be on to cleanse the US of the scourge of Christianity.

Prepare your hearts.
