The nice thing about having a full-blown Socialist country right next door in Canada, is we get a little glimpse into our future. I suspect we will be highlighting a lot more Canadian news over the next four years. Today's little peepshow opens on a burning social problem - the evil scourge of bottled water.

These are actual people, not actors . . .

So how long before Canada starts recycling plastic bottles ala NYC and plastic bags? Maybe people in the future will bring there own 5 gallon water bottles to the store along with their enviro friendly cotton recycle grocery bags. But it's going to be hard carting all that stuff home in a Smart car.

“The latest in a series of environmental initiatives undertaken by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg takes on plastic bags. Already the city requires that pretty much any store which gives customers plastic shopping bags also accept them back to be recycled. The Mayor’s most recent plan would go one step further and require stores to charge 6 cents per plastic bag used (the city would get 5 cents of that, with a penny going to the store). Here are some more details, such as there are, on the Mayor’s plan:

Canada wasn't going to mandate recycling or tax the bottles. They were going to ban them.

They were going to ban them.

How often do we see a scare tactic turned into an opportunity for the government to make money. The air is poluted and will kill you = carbon tax. Seat belts save lives = click it or ticket. plastic is filling up our landfills = 6 cents a bag.

Some people will be happy to bay a couple of cents extra on plastic bottles as enviro sin tax once they have learned that plastic bottles are a sin. Heck it works for aluminum cans.

I ask my fellow lurkers and Freepers to support the bottled water industry and sign the petition at bottledwatermatters.com

Freep this Petition! I just heard the House of Representative banned bottled water in PET bottles in their cafeteria. Unreal! PET is totally safe and bottle water is a healthy high quality alternative beverage to sugar beverages. Hello any beverage in a plastic bottle and all kinds of food products are packaged in PET.

Bottled Water has been unfairly targeted. One of the few home grown business that can't be farmed out to the Chinese. The government might as well crush tens of thousands of American jobs so the left can buy filters to do a substandard job of cleaning up what they insist is great quality tap water. Hundred year old pipes help to make it that way!

And also let's not forget save the planet which is BS. Truth is municipal water systems and many private water systems are heavily Unionized big surprise.

The plan here too is to ban anything made from carbon based product such as bottles. Even reusable bottles that make over fifty trips before being recycled are being targeted.

Guess what product gets to every natural disaster first? You got it! Bottled water! Katrina had no drinking water for weeks the area survived on bottled water and a large chunk of it was donated by the industry itself.

These company's are comprised of hard working American's providing a safe, necessary beverage that people really want. It is heart breaking what the government will do to US business in the name of Climate Change (Hoax of the century)

Bottled Water is the shot across the bow wait until the next great enviro scam comes out “THE WATER FOOTPRINT” Wait until you all find out how much water it takes to raise beef and meat, make beer and soda, water golf courses, The vegans are behind this move as well.

Dairy and Meat are in the cross hairs. Hell with the jobs and what Americans want to eat Pelosi is making up the menu right now and it ain't gonna be pretty or tasty!
Please help and stop them here!
