Conservative radio buffoon Rush Limbaugh thinks of himself as an ace strategist and so he thought he was being extremely clever back in March when he launched "Operation Chaos" an effort to undermine frontrunner Barack Obama's chances in the fall election by prolonging the Democratic primary season and forcing Obama to deplete his resources early. Rushbo, accordingly, urged his conservative Republican listeners to take advantage of open primaries in many thats that allow non-Democrats to participate and vote for Hilary Clinton in order to drag the race out as long as possible. Brilliant eh? And how mischievous!
Unfortunately the Limbaugh his plan was too clever by half and has backfired.
DNC chair Howard Dean has talked about the importance of a "50 state strategy" for the past four years and Obama embraced the idea but it was the prolonged primary season that allowed Obama to implement it by virtue of necessity as the never ending race forced him to recruit ground organizers and campaign in red states that are usually flyover states for the Dems such as Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Indiana. When the fall campaign came around, polls showed Obama competitive in states that the Democrats had long written off as a result of his spring campaigning and allowed him to use ground organizations left over from the primary season in order to keeps those states competitive forcing McCain to campaign in states which should have been sure things for him. Moreover, Obama won North Carolina and Indiana and thereby assured himself the presidency thanks, in no small part, to Rush Limbaugh's efforts.

And the demoralization campaign against talk radio and its audience continues.
Hillary would have most likely beat McCain by a landslide.

Rush and Hannity were responsible for making a 3 point loss out of a 15 point loss.

I admit I have been thinking about this, as well as the way the libs forced McCain on us -
I still can’t decide if Hillary would have been better or worse. Seriously, the thought of Bill back in the White House and Hillary being, well, Hillary, and probably ending up with two terms, is quite disgusting.
O shows his emptiness and his arrogance in every picture, every non-scripted word he speaks. With Biden by his side, there is nothing he can’t screw up.
A few years of that plus the do-nothing congress, might be the shot in the arm that we need to energize us for the next fight.
I’m trying to look at the reign of O as an amusing and slightly pathetic, expensive interlude in my life. Besides, my husband is getting tired of my whining.

Or how the GOP helped McCain to be the nominee by having open primaries. Or how 20 percent of conservatives helped subject this country to abject socialism by voting for The One. “Obamacons.” Pfffffffffft!

Operation chaos worked fine.
McCain ended up getting a lot of votes from PUMAS. Sadly for McCain, his anti-Republican bashing over the past 8 years, and his vote for the “bailout” etc, ended up costing him a lot of Republican votes.
In the end, McCain defeated McCain. Had nothing to do with Rush. No radio show host can elect a bad candidate who is not prepared to do what it takes to win,

This is right, it’s Limbaugh’s fault, but he only did it because he wanted to help Palin, since McCain told Limbaugh in advance that she was his VP nominee, because she was chosen by Dick Cheney in a secret meeting convened by George W. Bush, who takes his orders directly from the Jooos! /sarc
