What if McCain chose Mitt Romney? (Vanity)
me too

Posted on 11/05/2008 8:10:52 PM PST by fzx12345

Hindsight is, as the cliche goes, 20/20, but Wall Street was pulling for Romney in the primaries--would have this selection helped shore up voters concerned about the economy, or would the Mormon factor taken away even more of the South?

I know he wouldn’t have fired me up at all.

Two rinos don’t make one conservative. They make a liberal.

He would’ve lost even more, probably 60-40.

The Question is Not “what if Mccain had picked Romney” the question should be, “What if the Republicans had picked Romney in the Primaries?”

THE PRIMARIES NEED TO BE CLOSED TO REPUBLICANS ONLY..I hope there is a movement for this...

GO JINDAL.......

The Bain Capital factor would have trumped the Mormonism. Every single issue would have become an Enron or a Halliburton.

Probably Palin got more votes than Romney would have. While it is impossible to ever know, the only time during the campaign that McCain showed any emotion was when he railed against “Wall Street greed”. It was kind of hard to get excited about the ticket after that.

P.S. Oh yea, he also was very passionate about the cap-and-trade carbon tax.

Mitt Romney was the only one of the guys running for the nomination that I would not vote for under any circumstances if he were on the ticket in any capacity. I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

Let’s see...on the one hand, we have a Marxist. On the other hand, we have a guy who wants to ‘go across the aisle to work with’ the Marxist. Why not just buy direct?

That was our problem from the start. Adding Romney’s sleaze to the ticket would have just been icing on the cake of Hussein’s 48 state landslide.

Ok, I am just going to say it “shut up about MR”. He lost the primaries big time, the Republican Party did not chose him because he was just another rino.
He is going and gone never to be heard from again, well except in the minds of MR worshipers.

He would have lost bigger. Think of the prop 8 advert in CA with the LDS missionaries. Romney would have been hooked into that imagery. (Not that Mc-whats-his-face did anything in CA anyway)

No one ever explained to the sheeple what the financial crisis was, and WHO was involved.

I think McCain was afraid if he “Named Names”, that Obama would use his hundreds of millions to hammer on the Keating 5 thing.

What is Republicans were smart enough not to pick McCain? McCain is the reason we lost the election. No VP choice is going to win it for a bad candidate.

If I hear one more question about Mitt’s Mormonism being a hinderance in a process that ended up electing an Afro-Leninist pseudo-Christian crypto Muslim who votes like an athiest, I will scream quite loudly.

He also got excited about some Hillary Clinton plan to pay everyone’s mortgage.

Heh...all of the Zerobots think that Obama’s gonna pay their mortgage! They picked the wrong liberal! lol

I liked the idea of Romney in part, at least from an economic aspect. But I’m not sure he would have added votes though.
