Respectfully, I disagree. Sure, ACORN cheated and I'm willing to bet over $100 million of Obama's money came from illegal sources. Add onto that a shameless press.
The fault, however, lies in a combibation of some bad luck, the nomination of a RINO, and the inability - especially that of George Bush and John McCain - to make the appropriate explanations in a timely fashion, e.g., why we had a recent financial crisis and who exactly set the policies for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that caused the problems.
Don't get upset that Obama, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank et al for blaming the GOP for things that Obama, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank caused. That's politics.
As to President Bush, he has not bothered to defend his policies for years now while the Democrats have attacked ruthlessly. The result is that his numbers have plummeted, and thus everyone who supported Bush (including McCain) were dragged down with him.
I would ask that everyone here stop blaming the Democrats for playing hardball politics. It is time to nominate candidates with solid conservative principles, candidates capable of articulating those principles, and candidates who will reach across the isle to the Democrats when necessary but not feel obligated to do so.
The Dems have control of the Executive and the Legislature, and cannot blame the Republicans for their failures in the next four years, and like Jimmy Carter, Obama's socialist policies are counter-productive to a capitalist and open-information society.
Hopefully, Obama wont get the chance to replace a conservative justice with the likes of Breyer, who never saw an overreaching goverment claw in his life that violated the Constitution.
They can't? They will, to the applause of the MSM. Just wait and see.
