Lots of Obama’s plans are similar to FDR’s in the thirties. And yes, a lot of the original ideas of the Founding Fathers WERE lost in the New Deal - and some are still absent. Heck, lots of folks think that the Real America died in 1933.

But - I sincerely believe, that as dark as this night is, America has not died. Not yet. But we will need to continue to fight for it.

Israel will be destroyed at this time and because of this new president.

Pat Buchanan and James Baker should then be rejoicing over Obama's election.

Unspeakable grief. America just died. All that was good, and bright, and full of promise... Gone. The gift that previous generations bequeathed to us at such great cost has been thrown away as though it were a used tampon. Our great achievement this evening: We’ve managed to throw the baby out with the bathwater. We have become a nation of stupid sheeple.

Do you really think that BushCo has been good for America?

Do you think Palin being a heartbeat away from the Presidency is a good thing? She is enmeshed in the same corruption as the others you accuse.

http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2008/10/07/palins_unamerican/index.html?source=rss&aim=/opinion/feature

Here she is endorsing them again in March of this year:

That is just a taste.

Thank God the Republicans did not win the White House again.
How, exactly, does the Patriot Act protect the Constitution? So many things to undermine our Republic happened on BushCo’s watch.

“Lots of Obama’s plans are similar to FDR’s in the thirties. And yes, a lot of the original ideas of the Founding Fathers WERE lost in the New Deal - and some are still absent. Heck, lots of folks think that the Real America died in 1933.”

I can see 1933 as the year that the infection started. When FDR basically packed the Supreme Court with people who would say what he was doing was constitutional, the bacteria was introduced into the system. Tonight was the culmination of the 75 years that the sickness grew.

“But - I sincerely believe, that as dark as this night is, America has not died. Not yet. But we will need to continue to fight for it.”

I can hope with you. If it’s not dead, it’s on life support and the nurse is headed for the plug.

I am reminded of a verse that is simple and true. Hopefully this verse will be read over and over and over again.

“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

Sorry folks, but I can find no silver lining in any of this. This is the last straw for me. I’ve completely lost my faith in humanity, and in fact I think I’m just headed toward being sociopathic from here on out.

Too many people are now just irredeemable idiots. I really find myself wondering what we’re all doing here. No matter how hard the good people try to maintain what is good and just about America, the sneering, degenerate scumbags just lie, cheat, and steal their way into office. Their iron grip on the education system ensures that they will continue to inject their filth into naive, but fertile minds.

If you think it will get better, you’re just kidding yourself. We now will have full-on amnesty, and will add even more third-world scum to the home-grown human refuse that inhabits the democratic party. Add to that an apparently growing number of previously good people who have allowed political correctness to poison their minds, and it is clear where we are headed.

At this point, only a revolution ala 1776 can restore America, but we know that won’t happen (we long ago lost the spirit that created this once-great country). So I say bring on the asteroid, the genetically-engineered doomsday plague, or the terrorists’ nuclear Pearl Harbor. Who cares any more?

Note to the rest of the world. Next time you dial 911, expect a busy signal. At least you still will have one thing saving you from dictators who want to take everything they can grab, other dictators taking everything they can grab. Of course that relative safety will only last a short while.

Nope. 1913

1) Amendment 16 personal income tax removed the state as a buffer between the people and national slavery.
2) Amendment 17 direct election of senators took the control of the Senate away from state legislators and undermined issues of federalism they were best equiped to understand.
3) Federal Reserve Act - not a big conspiracy - just an unnecessary bureaucracy doomed to inflate the currency to failure.

All 1913.

After that, prohibition (alcohol by amendment), women voting, New Deal, and prohibition (marijuana and other drugs without constitutional authority - for it or against it, there is no authority intrastate pre-FDR court jurisprudence)

It is good to finally hear some sanity in this endless night of horror. What we have feared has come to pass. But why are some of us sounding so surprised and as though we had nothing to do with it happening?

Why are we surprised that the country wanted no more of the Republican party's policies? The fact that Republican policies had degenerated into a watered down version of liberal policies, was lost on the dumb masses. They need someone to blame and the prefer blaming Republicans rather than their own.

Why are we surprised that the historical "miracle" of Freedom fighters winning against all odds (like in the Revolutionary War, like in WWI and WWII) does not seem to work for us anymore? Even many people here on FreeRepublic refuse to acknowledge God's hand in that miracle, or even to acknowledge God's existence!

Why are we Christians surprised that God's Word is true? He will have His way and His will be done.... even though it may not go the way we want it to. It seems that God has had enough of America's wayward behavior.

As for me, I prefer to think that it is not so much God punishing us in hatred, but rather His admonishing us as a loving Father would his child. Sort of like being sent to "time out" with no dinner and made to stay there till we see our wrongs. I voted for McCain today. How could I have done otherwise? But in my heart I knew that McCain would not be what America needs to cure its woes. Oh, we most certainly would have had a temporary reprieve, but it would have been fleeting, putting off the inevitable.

The American masses have spoken. They want to abandon God, trade their freedom for what they think will be a cushy living with redistribution of wealth, and experiment with the Marxist Utopia we have allowed their school textbooks to speak of. Why does any of that surprise us? Nothing we say will discourage them because they do not hear us. They do not hear us because they have lost all respect for our spokespersons. Can we blame them for that?

So are we doomed? Is this the end of America? I must confess that I was entertaining that idea a few minutes ago. Then I read MissouriConservative's post and it was like a ray of light! God's Word has a way of doing that, bringing blessings and joy to those that hear it. I printed it out and hung it on the wall by my desk where I can read it over and over again. (note to self: need to make a copy to hang in the kitchen as well). It lifts my heart. I would love to see it become a new goal of Free Republic in our ongoing fight to take back our nation.

“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

We only have ourselves to blame.

Yep, I swear when (not if) we get hit again, if it's NYC or Chicago or SF or LA or any one of the cities that overwhelmingly went for the Marxist POS, I don't know that I'll have any feeling for them. Let their Marxist POS president deal with it.

Thank you. Last night, as I sat here after my family went to slumber, that verse was in my head. I have used it often in the past but haven’t thought of it for quite a while. God reminded me, through that verse, that He and only He is in control. Maybe I forgot that from time to time. God has blessed America for so long that I guess I just assumed that He would continue to do so. After that verse ran through my head, I was reminded of all the blessing God bestowed upon Israel...until they turned from Him. He chastised them until they returned, and then the blessings returned.

So I will join your crusade, so to speak, and add that verse to my tagline. I know it all won’t fit but enough will to get people to read it.

As John Adams put it, “Our constitution was made for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate for any other.” The experiment begins. Did Adams know what he was talking about?

We are now living in a propagandized society. Democracy is incompatible with disinformation. Something has got to give.

Too few people cared about the fact that Obama went to a racist, anti-American church for 23 years. Obama is steeped in this kind of radicalism. It will come out in his governing, and damn us for voting for his agenda. By saying “God damn America,” all I’m doing is quoting the man whom Obama called his “spiritual adviser.”

As far as I’m concerned, Barack Obama is the first President of God Damn America.

Due to abortion, we’ve killed so many potential workers that there are now only 3.3 workers for every retiree. And in less than 20 years, it will be only 2 workers per retiree. Our system can’t keep going - and the special interests will not let us fix it the way it needs to be fixed. Like the worst kind of fools, we are killing ourselves. Socialism has failed every time it’s been tried, but here we are, asking for it again.

A vote for Obama was a vote for a nuclear Iran that will be able to conduct global terrorism with impunity. Iranians are gleeful; they know Obama will say whatever, but do nothing.

Israel will almost certainly have to attack Iran themselves, and may do so before Obama’s inauguration so he can’t tell them NOT to attack. That would be a rude awakening for a country that voted for a man who isn’t ready to lead, and who has the wrong vision to lead.

Democrats were all over the financial meltdown. Clinton pushed the Democrat-passed “Community Reinvestment Act” that encouraged the banking industry to make bad loans (by claiming the GSEs Fannie and Freddie would back them), and forced them to do so when they balked. Barack Obama was one of the lawyers that sued Citibank in the landmark case that forced banks to loosen their credit requirements for low income and minority applicants.

Penny Pritzker, Obama’s national finance chair, was at the epicenter of the subprime loan scandal. She paid $460 million of her own money to avoid jail. Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Jamie Gorelick collected over $300 million in bonuses while playing with the books. Barney Frank and Democrats refused twice to regulate Fannie and Freddie. They unanimously opposed the bills and threatened a filibuster Republicans didn’t have the numbers to overcome - and then blamed Bush and Republicans for failing to regulate!

And we punished Democrats by putting them in charge of everything!

I believe we have voted for a disaster and quite possibly a Great Depression #2.
