Bush, DeLay, Hastert, Ted Stevens, Trent Lott, Bill Frist etc, are the architects of the failure. The Congress spent too much, Bush played ball to buy votes even with leftists, and his DOD did a horrible job with Iraq. The spending and Iraq pushed the party out of favor in early 2006 and the financial meltdown got pinned on Bush since he was guilty of being on office.
Don’t assume that elections are won simply by throwing the moderates to the Democrats. You win with leadership, good policies and prosperity. The Repubs don’t have any of those right now and with the financial market meltdown people went Obama.
I agree. McCain believed that he could win over the MSM and moderates by attacking the conservative wing of the party. His amnesty program failed to win support from Hispanics. Any Republican that attempts to “reach across the aisle” will not get my support
We got rid of some RINOs tonight and kept some good Senators and Representatives. Life goes on and the leftists get their shot at trying to do things better. When they fail we’ll take the helm again. The country goes on and the next generation will soon learn the lessons of FDR, LBJ, and Jimmy Carter. Stay polite to your neighbors no matter what their affiliation, turn the other cheek, love your family, and prepare for the future. Those that are losing it, take a pill.
