I was 2 feet away from Robert F. Kennedy at Disney land a day or two before his assassination (he had RFK, Jr. on his shoulders). I was a neo-republican even then (8 years old) but felt very sorry for him, his family and the country.

I think I was 17 at the time. It struck so hard because of President Kennedy's assassination. It was like, no! God not another one. I remember we were studying science in our class when it came over our loud speaker that President Kennedy had been shot.

You just never forget where you were and what you were doing when something like that happens.

I wasn't political back then but I must have been a budding conservative. Because I didn't have two pennies to rub together but I learned real quick how to stretch them a mile. LOL
