In early October, a friend of Chris Yavelows forwarded him a copy of my article, Who Wrote Obamas Dreams From My Father. In the article, I make the case that erstwhile terrorist Bill Ayers had a substantial and easily detectable hand in the writing of Obamas lyrical masterwork, one that Time Magazine has called the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician.
The friend knew that Yavelow, an award-winning composer and author, had worked for years developing what he believes is the most comprehensive linguistics tool for authorship detection, a software product trademarked as FictionFixer.
Yavelow contacted me and I sent him some relevant materials. When he ran the two books nominally by Barack Obama, the 1995 Dreams From My Father and the 2006 Audacity of Hope, through FictionFixer, he concluded, They were written by different people.
As Yavelow explains, authors dont go from a 3.8 percent use of the passive voice in 1995 to an 8.3 percent use in 2006. For developing writers, the use of the passive almost always diminishes with experience.
Yavelow cites a score of other characteristics that change too conspicuously from one Obama book to the next, among them the Flesch Reading Ease score, the use of gender words, sentence starters, adverbs, discouraged words, sensory triggers, and more.
When, however, Yavelow compared Obamas Dreams with Bill Ayers memoir, Fugitive Days, he found the similarity of the two books striking. He then quickly corrects himself: Striking is an understatement for the relationship FictionFixer uncovered between Fugitive Days and Dreams From My Father.

"Just a guy who lives in my neighborhood..." (And wrote my first biography for me.)
This is unreal. It’s like a nightmare and the media does nothing with it.
....when I lived in New York going to Columbia AND when I lived in Chicago. (Lived a few blocks away from each other at BOTH locations.)
And, in Chicago, had offices on the same floor of a small building. You know, in the neighborhood.
...the best-written memoir everproduced byghostwritten for an American politician.
America is on the verge of elevating a literary fraud to the Presidency. Amazing.
Correction: “Dreams From My Father”, not “Dreams of My Father”...although Obama’s father was a committed radical socialist, so perhaps my erroneous title is closer to the truth of the Obama son.
Thanks, good timing!
Now we know the real reason he picked Biden for VP: kindred spirit, likes to pass of other people’s writing as his own.
Is there any reason you didn’t post this in Breaking News?
I second that, should be in breaking.
It won’t affect the outcome of the election, but it will become useful later on, as concrete proof that Obama is a liar on large issues. “Just some guy in my neighborhood” could become his “Mission Accomplished.” (I know W. never said it, but it’s all about spin and perception.)
There are so many Obama lies on record that do not seem to matter to many poll responders and campaign workers and media sycophants. After he is elected, looking at him cross-eyed will be considered “racist.” We are in for a period never known to Americans before, of speech police and message control.
There will not be ‘Obama = Liar’ spoken or written anywhere.
Even the Washington Times will want to get their access back.
Add the so-called fairness doctrine to kill talk radio, hate speech laws to go after the internet etc, and we are indeed in for a bad time.
"So-called" is an accurate description. I hope we don't allow the left to get away with another deceptive (lying) title.
Indeed.
I agree about never conceding them the language. I don’t even like calling it “so-called.” I’d rather just call it the censorship doctrine.
