GOTV calls are a keystone of any successful campaign.

Went to homebase today and made 598 calls. Still rockin’ with two phones and brought in three volunteers from my posse. One new volunteer is 75. He is one of the kindest, gentlest people you would ever have the pleasure to meet. He learned the phones and called 50 people.

But in light of this new volunteer success, today I dedicate this post to “Cathy.” I called to speak with “Brian,” who wasn’t home yet. I asked my question and Cathy answered. Then, she said “Can I ask you something?”

That was the beginning of 10 minutes that changed my day - and maybe more. Cathy is a mother, conservative, typically-Republican, and torn over who she and Brian should vote for POTUS. She supported Huckabee in the primaries and they’re not sure about McCain being conservative enough. Cathy is a very informed voter, well-spoken and middle-age.

Volunteering for a campaign can have a big impact on you and others. Even if you only have an hour to give, do. It's surprising how much a little time can make a HUGE difference.
