I guess I'm the Man and we're "rich" oppressive bastards that need to pay for getting an education and working our asses off for the past decade.

I am becoming so resentful of communists. U.S. workers are supposedly the most productive in the world. I believe the reason is because so many corporations take advantage of their salaried personnel, of which I am one. My next salary increase in January will probably put me over $90K--and I am now single. However, I often have weeks where I work 30% overtime--without pay or time off. Supposedly, that's why they "pay us so much." Why should I be working my tail off for more of my money to be confiscated (stolen) to give to others? I built my career (by the Grace of God) as a single mother with two sons, from the time they were 6 and 10 years old (18 years ago). I don't see room in my budget for the reversal of the Bush tax cuts, much less additional cuts to share my "wealth."

It's so frustrating. I remember studying the horrors of Carter-era tax bracket creep back in my uni days and now we're about to get a firsthand look at it.

Biden's speech today wasn't a slip. Remember that it wasn't long ago that VP Gore argued with a straight face that individuals with 100K incomes were rich - I'm not kidding here: his argument was that "in 10 years they will have earned a million dollars."
