Vanity: Orlando Sentinel endorses Barack Obama for president

The United States is fighting two wars. The financial system is in crisis. Fewer Americans can afford to excercise their right to visit the magic kingdom. The terrorists behind the worst-ever attack on U.S. soil are regaining strength. The Pirates of the Caribbian have formed new alliances. The cost of propping up the economy will propel the federal budget deficit from the stratosphere into deep space, where not even Wall-E can save it. Mr. McCain has even attempted to prevent my fellow citizens of the Magic Kingdom from voting in this historic election.

Americans badly need a leader who can navigate the nation through these perils.

As the primary season began, the candidate who seemed best qualified to be that leader was Republican John McCain. But Mr. McCain then was a different candidate from the one before us now. He has abandoned positions we admired, and he thinks we're going to vote for him just because he has some hot-looking Alaskan babe as his running mate. He has reacted inconsistently, even haphazardly, to events. In making the most important decision of his campaign, he showed shockingly poor judgment, and lately seems to be more of a cartoon caracter than a senator of the United States.

In contrast to Mr. McCain, Democrat Barack Obama has exceeded our expectations during this extremely negative campaign. He has demonstrated sound and cool judgment, grace under pressure, and style and hipness seldom seen in the world of politics. Because we are now more confident in his ability to steer America through the rough and turbulent waters ahead, and to make is look really cool in the eyes of the world, Mickey and Friends are officially endorsing Barack Obama for president.

The Orlando Sentinel has a few readers left in Fantasyland. They can't get anyone else to buy or read the rag. It's smaller than The Enquirer but the stories are similar.

Well, I edited the first part of the story a little bit and my original title was Breaking News! Mickey Mouse Endorses Barack Obama

The AM changed it.

Just a minute, I’m searching for a list of other inexperienced liberals with small ears that Mickey has previously endorsed. I’ll let you know what I find. ;-)
