Folks, I’m a little disappointed in many of the reactions I see here.
If you won’t read the actual material, it’s hard for us to discuss the techniques involved or to determine among ourselves to what extent, if any, they are being used by Obama. Informed decisions could then be made as to whether you might want to teach your children about this stuff, so that they are able to spot it being used by pickup artists, salesmen, lawyers or politicians in the future.
I would have preferred for us to examine and discuss the use of pacing and leading, deep structure vs surface structure, linking statements, extra slow speech, rhythm, tonalities, vagueness, visual imagery, metaphor, raising of emotion, stacking of hypnotic language patterns, and control and command gestures as used in Obama’s speeches or other famous historical political speeches. It just might be that this was what Obama was learning during his years that we know so little about.
Like many of you, I went into this thinking oh boy, tin foil hat time, but the deeper I went, the more it seems to explain. It’s long, and the first 16 pages are kind of promo without proof, but I encourage each of you to study the whole thing and then decide for yourselves whether or not you are completely unconvinced. If nothing else, when you are done, you will have a good idea about how Eriksonian hypnosis works.
I have now read the entire document and I have followed a great many of the footnotes and references included in the PDF as well. Google was also my friend.
Although the author is way more than a little passionate about what he thinks about Obama and his alleged use of these techniques, he goes on to back it up with known science and thorough in context analysis accompanied by copious footnotes and references to published works on the subjects.
The techniques he claims Obama is using are identified, explained and demonstrated in detailed context. They are accepted by the experts in the field as especially powerful and effective among the young, but also among many who do a lot of reading. (think students, journalists, academicians...)
He also shows why this is much more effective in long speeches than it is in debates, short conversations or town hall situations. 30 minute CBS final TV campaign time slot, anyone? Spotting these techniques in use during his show might even make a good drinking game... ;-)
The author seems to make a disturbingly solid case that Obama is not just a charismatic orator, not even just a dabbler in these methods, but an accomplished practitioner of the art of covert / conversational / Eriksonian hypnosis.
As the media guru Marshall McLuhan is reported to have said, Only the small secrets need to be protected. The big ones are kept secret by public incredulity.
Thank you.
I am not one for starting threads, even as long as I have been here.
The only threads I *have* started involved a few breaking news stories, calls for warm bodies for a Veteran’s home benefit ride and a large scale dog rescue.
I abhor the “tinfoil hat” crowd.
I’m not known for frivilous postings unless it’s a comical thread.
I read the whole thing, pondered its import and decided to take a chance that somebody here would actually take the time to examine the possibility.
My thanks to those who did.
Excellent post!!! Are you able to do a youtube on the subject. Americans NEED to know. Who will do it? The media will not. Can you or some other freeper who will be a hero, read carefully, understand this PDF and LET THE AMERICAN PEOPLE KNOW!
I’ll pass on watching the 30 min extravaganza. Researchers should wait until after the election just to make sure they don’t get pulled in and find themselves “pulling the lever” for Obama...lol.
